July Events in Walton County

July is upon us and it’s hard to believe we are halfway through 2018! Make the most of the summer with these upcoming July events the whole family will love!

July 3rd:

Check out the Stars and Strips POPS Concert featuring the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra! This event will take place at 7:30 pm at the Seaside Amphitheater and is free go charge!

July 4th:

Freeport Regional Sports Complex

Right here in Hammock Bay’s own backyard is the Freeport 4th of July Festival at the Freeport Regional Sports Complex. At 10 am the parade will begin at the Freeport Middle School and make its way down East Bay Loop, ending at the Sports Complex. Between 12 noon and 7 pm there will be activities for all ages! Slip-n-slide and sprinklers, 3 on 3 basketball and volleyball tournaments, a watermelon eating contest and city-wide scavenger hunt and much more! 

Baytowne Wharf

The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort will be celebrating Independence Day from 6 to 10 pm with activities for the kids which includes a visit from Betsy Ross, writing letter to soldiers, crafts and face-painting. End the night with a spectacular fireworks show at 9:15 pm. 

Seaside

Start your Independence Day first thing in the morning with the South Walton 4th of July Parade which will begin at 8 am in front of Seagrove Plaza, heading west along Scenic Highway 30-A to the Seaside Amphitheater. Festivities commence following the parade and include an awards presentation, face painting music and more! Enjoy a performance by Birmingham, Alabama band “Rollin’ in the Hay” at 7 pm. At 9 pm, a magnificent fireworks display will end the night and will be set to the simulcast soundtrack playing on 30A Radio (107.1FM) so be sure to tune in!

Seaside Amphitheater

Enjoy a family movie night under the stars at the Seaside Amphitheater! Bring blankets, chairs and popcorn to enjoy a different movie every Friday night. Movies start at 8 pm and are free of charge. July’s movie line up is:

July 6 – The Secret Life of Pets

July 13 – WALL-E

July 20 – Sing

July 27 – Despicable Me 3

Grand Boulevard

Pick up your fresh and mostly locally sourced goods every Saturday at the Grand Boulevard Farmers’ Market from 9 am to 1 pm. Here you will find food-based items like eggs, honey, gourmet jams and pickled vegetables as well as flowers, herbs, soaps and lotions! 

Santa Rosa Beach

Enjoy the Gulfplace Summer Concert Series every Sunday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Gulf Place Amphitheater. These concerts feature local and regional bands of all genres and are free and open to the public, just remember to bring a chair or blanket to sit on! The line up for July’s concerts are:

July 8 – Rust & Gold

July 15 – I’MAGINE

July 22 – JP Soars & The Red Hots

July 29 – Flash Flood

The Florida panhandle has so much to offer, we are only mentioning a few things to enjoy. Whether you call Walton County “home” or are just visiting, we hope your summer is filled with plenty of sunshine and good times!
